Governing Body of North Farnborough Infant School for Summer 2008
The Governing Body is an important group of people who are responsible for working with the Head teacher and the school staff to ensure a high quality education at
Our Governing Body is made up of volunteers who are appointed for a period of four years.
The full Governing Body meets together twice each term. There are three sub-committees who meet more often to discuss curriculum, finance, personnel and buildings matters.
The Governors produce a report for all parents, which is issued two weeks before the Annual Parents Meeting. This evening meeting provides an excellent opportunity for everyone involved with the school to talk together, to celebrate its achievements and discuss the way forward. Parents are encouraged to air their concerns and to share in planning for the future.

I have two children, Thomas has just joined reception this year, and Andrew who is 2. I am married to a primary school teacher, so I have a good understanding of school life from a teacher's perspective. I work for Sony, based in Basingstoke, and in my spare time when I'm not engrossed in household chores or building train tracks with my sons, I enjoy walking, cooking, visiting heritage railway sites (blame the boys for that one) and I am a member of both the National Trust and English Heritage.

After my post graduation, I taught in University for a while and then I entered into big IBM world. I am still interested in learning and teaching so it prompted me to join as a School Governor. I would like to contribute to school's overall development and success. I have also keen interest in all forms of creative arts and specially painting and drawing.
